SDLC Business Analyst

We are currently seeking an experienced SDLC Business Analyst to participate in development of our software solutions. This person will gather, analyze and create moderate to complex business requirement documentation in accordance with system development standards and practices. The business analyst will spend up to 50% of their time augmenting the Quality Assurance group by participating in the testing of the solution to ensure fulfillment of business requirements. Qualifications :
Candidates must have the following skills: • Strong writing skills, to communicate information effectively to customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff. • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts; decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements. • Modeling skills, to represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language. This includes Data Flow diagrams, Entity diagrams, Use Cases, Class diagrams, Decision Tables and Decision Trees. • Strong Facilitation, listening, and user requirement gathering skills • Ability to build relationships with internal peers and external clients to achieve desired results. • Identification of requirements creep attributable to missed requirements and leakage of “unofficial” requirements into the project. • Solid knowledge of the systems development life cycle beneficial. • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and Visio. Experience Required: - 5+ years of Technical writing experience - 3+ years of Requirements gathering and Analysis experience - 1+ years experience with formal software development methodology (RUP, MSF, CMMI...etc.) - 1+ years of Requirements workshop facilitation experience - 1+ years experience with Web based software solutions - 1+ years with RoboHelp or similar documentation creation tools - Experience with Mercury testing. - Experience with development of Web user Interfaces a plus. - Experience using a requirements management tools is plus.
