The Iowa Foundation for Medical Care (IFMC) is a successful business in the health care industry that creates customized information management systems and is currently seeking a Senior Software Development Manager who is experienced in leading Software Lifecycles to enjoy a successful career with our fast-paced Software Development team in our local office of West Des Moines, IA.

Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and managing the process of multiple software development projects. The incumbent will partner with all levels of the organization to ensure processes and systems meet or exceed specific customer and Company standards.
This Senior Manager will be responsible for directly managing a team with primary responsibility for supporting the administrative data warehouses for one of our major contracts. This team also has primary responsibility for leading all Oracle technology enterprise standards and development, with a goal of getting SDPS to a point where there are shared approaches and common object libraries from which we can build warehouses for new user communities in a short amount of time. This manager will be directly responsible for a team of 8 staff, but will have access to PL/SQL developers across 5 other systems teams to build core object sets. Will require a great deal of communication and cooperation - all of the teams have a stake in getting these core libraries set up, and will need to be involved in order to insure a smooth integration into the existing systems.

Requirements:
Four year degree in Computer Science or Business or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience; 10+ years experience in leading software lifecycle design or development; specific technical experience as indicated in the project(s) and/or contract(s); 7 years experience managing a technical and/or professional team, with strong collaborative teamwork skills. Strong Oracle and Warehousing Technology skills. Excellent communicator who can effectively collaborate with peers and other members across the project teams consisting of several functional groups: Health Informatics, Application and Database Development, QA, Production Support, Senior Management and customers. Experience in IS support of Healthcare Quality initiatives is helpful, as well as a broad background in Development, inclusive of technologies in addition to Oracle, such as JAVA or other Object Oriented development approaches. Positions working on specific contracts may require US Citizenship.
