SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION Northrop Grumman Information Technology CSLS Identification Line of Business offers an opportunity to help influence the course of Identification Management thru supporting the IDENT1 program, Research and Development, and new business pursuits. The preferred individual should have major program system engineering experience, ideally with a background in R&D, biometric and fingerprint identification systems, and systems design and integration. IDENT1 is a multinational 8 year program to provide an integrated identity management / fingerprint system and computing infrastructure to connect 57 police forces and agencies, with up 1200 workstations and 440 Livescan units, throughout England, Wales and Scotland.] Types of R&D investigation programs will consist of algorithm development, improved accuracy and response times, mobile fingerprint checking, facial imaging and video identification. The individual will provide analysis and evaluation of technology insertion opportunities into the public safety policing environment. For the future the Identification Line of Business will support several 100M+ new business pursuits which will need a strong system engineer to help architect the overall solution. Domestic and International travel is required.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have extensive experience and demonstrated capabilities in one or more of the following disciplines: system engineering, design, statistical decision theory, pattern analysis, performance benchmarking and simulation, algorithm research and development. Strong analytic capability is required. Familiarity with fingerprint and biometric system is desirable but not required. 10 years of work experience and MS/Phd in Math, EE or engineering sciences required. US citizenship is required, as well as the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
