The position is located in Hudson OH

 

The purpose of the department is to provide operational support in a 24x7 data center environment

The scope of this job is to understand, create, deploy, and troubleshoot software distributions.  Perform administrative tasks to the SMS architecture as assigned.  Troubleshoot admin issues as needed.  Share knowledge with team members and clients.  This individual must be able to work in a team environment. Candidates for this position must be innovative and should be able to create, implement or recommend process refinement opportunities.  Problem solving skills are a must.  The ability to follow instructions both written and verbal is paramount as well as the ability to multi-task. Candidate must be self motivated and possess excellent communication skills to be able to function within a Virtual environment working with peers and customers.  The normal workweek for this position is Monday thru Friday, 8:00a / 4:30p Local Time.  Must be available for after hour support.

 

The individual will be responsible for

 

1. Enterprise administration of the SMS 2003 infrastructure including primary and secondary sites.

2. Software distribution 

3. Providing level 2 support on client and server related SMS issues

4. Documenting and process improvement project related information.

5. Troubleshooting /analyzing distribution failures for both workstations and servers.

 

The skills required are:

 

1. Beginner - Windows XP, Active Directory, Windows 2003, Network Security, MICROSOFT SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT SERVER 2003

2. Intermediate - Analytical and problem solving skills

3. Beginner - Experience administering SQL in a SMS 2003 environment

4. Intermediate - Customer service skills

5. Intermediate - Written and verbal skills

 

Experience Required:

Previous exposure to off-hour support as well as the ability to work multiple projects concurrently.  Prioritizing daily workload based on criticality with minimal supervision and guidance. Troubleshooting and analytical skills required.  1-2 years of experience in SMS client/server support preferred.

 

Computer Proficiency:

Microsoft certification preferred

 

Education:

College Degree - Preferred

Major preference: Managing Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training.
