SQL DBA Administrator

SQL Database Administrator,
This client is expanding its portfolio of technology solutions. The goal of these solutions is to elevate a member (client) institution's ability to surface problems, make faster and better decisions and ultimately improve performance.

Role in Brief

The database administrator is a critical member of the client's development team. He or she is ultimately responsible for successful database performance and the integrity of data models within and between development, QA, and production environments.

Specific responsibilities include:
? Manage existing databases and database management systems
? Perform database tuning and administration
? Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard sensitive information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure
? Assist in data modeling
? Serve as ?go-to? person for other developers on database deployment, ensuring successful migration to production environment
? Devise, implement and verify database backup and disaster recovery strategies
? Perform data-manipulation as necessary, including database dumps, database loads, and data transformations
? Write database maintenance scripts
? Monitor ? and seek to improve -- database statistics
? Source control and versioning of schemas

Preferred background:
? 3 or more years of DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in development and production environments, as well as Microsoft Windows and networking
? Excellent understanding of SQL Server architecture, administration, T-SQL, query plans, and security
? Large scale database schema design and implementation
? Intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilities
? Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
? Exceptional communication skills
? Ability to collaborate with internal and external clients and to translate requirements into solutions
? Ability to prioritize tasks and work concurrently on multiple tasks is essential
? Self-motivation and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
