SQL DBA (FTE downtown Baltimore)

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the administration of existing enterprise databases and development of new databases as directed by the Application Architect and Team Lead.  It involves data modeling, backup and recovery, installation, clustering, database optimization, understanding and implementation of schemas and ability to write complex SQL queries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement SQL design elements and standards
Contemplate, define, document, communicate and monitor all database architecture
Design, develop and maintain new and existing SQL databases
Code, test and debug complex SQL stored procedures, triggers, user defined functions
Develop SQL jobs and DTS packages
Debug database all database issues and work with the NOC to correct problems

 

Requirements:
Minimum of  5 years real world experience
Extensive experience with MS SQL Server 2000, 7.0 versions.
Experience in integrating different Microsoft BackOffice Components like MS Exchange server with MS SQL Server.
Experience in Designing Datamart and Data Warehouse using Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in implementing Decision Support Systems.
Experience in Using OLAP Technology Using SQLSever 2000, 7.0 for implementing DSS.
Specialized in implementing different types of Replication Models like Snapshot, Merge and Transactional.
Extensive knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems.
Experience in Data Modeling using ERWIN.
Experience with Database Backup, Recovery and Disaster recovery procedures.
Experience in MS SQL Server installation, configuration, performance tuning, client/server connectivity, query optimization, back-up/recovery, running Database Consistency Checks using DBCC.
Experience in writing Stored Procedures and Triggers.
Experience working with Windows 2000, 2003 Server  ? Administration and Installation.
Experience in Designing of Data Model for Data Mart and Data Warehouse using Star Schema & Snow Flak approach.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
Effective communication of project progress, requirements, and tasks with technical colleagues and management
Excellent documentation skills
