An opportunity currently exists within our BISD/ Technology Services Group - Operations Department for an SQL Database Administrator.

POSITION TITLE:   Intermediate Database Administrator

 

DEPARTMENT: BISD/ Technology Services Group ? Operations

 

DIVISION: Business Information Services

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

-BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science (or related field) or equivalent job experience required

-Three to five years of relational database experience required; Five plus years of relational database experience is preferred

-Basic knowledge of database recovery; database administration (including security); database optimization and tuning required

-MS SQL/Server administration and clustering experience, including a working knowledge of database configuration tuning, SQL, implementation of stored procedures (transact-SQL) and database recovery experience preferred

-Experience in Oracle database administration and configuration preferred

-System administration experience preferred

-Systems programming experience preferred

-Familiarity with common networking protocols (ADO.Net, ODBC), ports and their impact on database design and implementation preferred

 

MAJOR DUTIES:

-Under some direction:

-Install, configure, and administer database software within a multi database client/server environment

-Responsible for database recovery methodologies and the ability to perform each

-Administer and establish database security

-Monitor and optimize database performance

-Perform off-hours support as required

-Contribute to and adhere to departmental standards

 

HOURS/LOCATION:

-9 :00 am ? 5 :00 pm (over time are required)

-Federated Investors Tower
