SQL Database Developer

Our client is currently seeking a SQL Developer to be responsible for automating conversions, standardizing databases, developing SQL scripts to increase conversion throughput, bulk data extracts, database performance monitoring and SQL tuning, problem identification and resolution. The SQL Developer provides wide range of technical data management assistance, maintains, tunes, and monitors the operating efficiency and technical integrity of the databases in support of internal and external customers and required standards.

Responsibilities: Logical and physical database design, database schemas, stored procedure design, and creation of data-access interfaces Monitor and maintain all production SQL Server, including performing routine performance and index tuning when necessary and troubleshoot any issues regarding database performance. Acts as the custodian of all data models, maintaining the company's primary documentation of the data models Responsible for creating and managing departmental database documentation and standards. Facilitates usage of best practices between Conversion Specialists Responsible for all the performance tuning of the staging and production databases. Assists with complex query development Responsible for designing and managing production database backups Automation of Conversions Standardization of Databases Fulfillment of Bulk-Data Requests

Requirements: 4+ years experience as a DBA or senior database developer Database experience with MS SQL 7, 2000, 2005 Must demonstrate solid experience with MS SQL Server tools to perform database administration tasks Must demonstrate exceptional SQL programming skills to perform data troubleshooting and data manipulation tasks Must demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem solving skills in a variety of scenarios Must be very proficient in SQL Server 2000 & v7. Must possess strong SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills for SQL Server Solid understanding of SQL Server internal architecture Strong stored procedures development skills Experience in performance tuning, indexes, optimization, and replication Solid understanding of backup and recovery processes and options available in SQL Server Understanding of clustered environment Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills Ability to express complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. Strong analytical ability and good judgment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
