We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the SQL Report Writer/Analyst position at our software development center located in Chesapeake, Virginia.

 

 

The focus of the Report Writer /Analyst is to develop pre-defined and ad-hoc reports using a high degree of independence and innovation to satisfy end user requirements throughout the organization. Responsibilities will include the on-going maintenance and support of new and existing reports. The Report Writer /Analyst will be responsible for reviewing individual report requests and requirements, and integrating them into an enterprise reporting solution.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

? Work with business analytics department to prepare reports based on an analysis of end user or team needs.

? Evaluate Ad-hoc reporting requests for incorporation into a reporting system available to users.

? Create systems and process documentation.

? Provide end user support as needed, including developing new reports, developing report distribution mechanisms, and training departmental staff in use of reporting tools.
 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

? Ability to write SQL stored procedures and understanding of relational database concepts.

? Good user interviewing skills with the ability to translate users needs into deliverable reports.

? Good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

? Experience using Excel and pivot tables, Access, and SQL reporting services a plus.

? General understanding of accounting principles a plus.

 

Educational/Experience Requirements:

 

? Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.

? 2+ years of experience in report writing.

? Experience in developing custom reports of varying complexities based on end user?s needs.

 

Local candidates preferred.  Relocation reimbursement is not available.

 

May include travel to our corporate headquarters in Union, New Jersey once a month.
