Responsibilities:

 

Build and maintain reporting infrastructure around existing applications.  Create and support reporting data mart, which includes tables, views, cubes and dimensions, as well as necessary infrastructure to support pre-built reports and ad-hoc reporting.  Create and maintain DTS packages for transfer of data from various sources into reporting data mart. 

 Design and build standard reports and the framework for ad-hoc reports utilizing Microsoft toolset:  SQL Server, Analysis, and Reporting Services. 

 Work closely with team members and business partners to gather requirements and contribute to report design

 Assist with the development of metadata models, schemas and views to support ad-hoc queries and user-defined reports

 Complete and update reporting documentation as requested

 Assist QA Analysts with the development of test plans to confirm that deployed data mart, cubes, reports, views, and schemas are functionally correct

 Provide senior-level consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues and mentors junior team members

 

Requirements:

 

?  BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field preferred

?  Must have 5-6 years of experience as a DBA

?  Must have 4 years of experience with MS SQL Server 2000

?  Direct experience with MS SQL Server 2005 a plus

?  Last 2-3 years of experience working with the Microsoft Suite of business intelligence offerings including Analysis Services (OLAP), Reporting Services, Data Transformation Services (DTS)

?  Experience with schema design, including cube and star schemas, query optimization, and SQL profiling

?  Proven ability to develop:TSQL stored procedures and functionsAdvanced DTS Packages that perform multiple tasks, transformations, and follow a prescribed workflowmultidimensional expressions (MDX)

?  Have demonstrated experience with a reporting tool such as Business Objects, Analysis Services, Cognos, MicroStrategy, or Panorama

?  Have demonstrated experience with SQL Server Reporting Services 2000 / 2005

?  Must have the ability to identify and resolve problems as well as the judgment to determine optimal design for reports and data marts

?  Knowledge of statistical concepts and their application in reporting and data mart applications

?  Ability to work directly with business staff to translate requirements into reporting deliverables.  Must possess understanding of good report user interface design ? when to use each type of chart, matching design to targeted audience, and understanding business requirements to ensure report design clearly meets purpose.

?  Excellent written and oral communication skills

?  Excellent team player attitude

?  Proven track record and experience with delivering projects with tight timeframes and hard deadlines

?  e-Commerce experience a plus
