Job Responsibilities:

?Support and manage SQL Servers and databases in a high volume OLTP environment.  Experience managing a large number of SQL Servers a plus.
?Design and implement disaster recovery solutions and perform failOvers as necessary (log shipping and SQL 2005?s database mirroring).
?Install, configure, and support SQL Server in a high availability cluster configuration.
?Troubleshoot performance issues and work with developers to identify top offending stored procedures and SQL statements.
?Develop standards and best practices surrounding SQL Server management and database administration.
?Serve as SQL Server database resource on critical projects.
?Design and implement SQL Server security.
?Perform capacity management at all levels of database hardware infrastructure; cpu, disk I/O, memory, user connections, etc?
?Design and architect database layout/placement of database files for optimal performance.
?Design, install, configure, and support SQL Server and databases running on Fiber Channel SANs.
?Perform routine SQL Server and database maintenance tasks.
?Deploy changes to production SQL Servers as necessary.

 

Requirements:

?Complete job responsibilities listed above with a high degree of confidence and proficiency.
?2+ years experience with SQL Server Database Administration.
?Experience with SQL Server 2005 a plus.
?Experience with SQL Server transactional replication strong plus.
?Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
?Experience with SANs or Microsoft cluster a plus.
