SQL Server Database Administrator to $90,000

Job Description: Description Our client is looking for a strong SQL Server DBA who will play a significant role in the ongoing development and maintenance of the SQL Server databases that supports their product suite and related internal applications. Specifically, the candidate will architect and develop the relational databases that facilitate the capture and processing of transactions from the point of sale to the reporting of settlement. Design and ownership of the databases supporting internal and external websites is also anticipated.

Responsibilities
. Develop long term database strategy that incorporates enterprise business requirements and future technology direction
. Develop and document database architectural standards
. Participate in the requirements discovery process with members of both technical and business teams
. Provide analysis and recommendations of overall database system architecture and database design including risk and impact on existing production systems
. Design the next generation schema and SQL to accommodate database production, storage, maintenance, and accessibility
. Design and implement plans and procedures for database backup/restore and disaster recovery
. Develop database code in the form of stored procedures, triggers and user-defined functions
. Provide technical database related assistance to the development team
. Perform capacity planning and optimization including performance monitoring and tuning at the database server, query, and application level
. Document data models, data dictionary, database related tools, and all database related procedures
. Work with the customer support team to provide third level post implementation support
. Ensure effective version control and database change management practices in the development environment

Technical Requirements
. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing and deploying MS SQL databases that support web based software applications
. In-depth knowledge of MS SQL server, T-SQL, DTS, stored procedures, triggers, and functions
. Experience working in a high volume transaction environment using server clustering
. Strong understanding of database security and user access models
. Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis and Reporting services a plus
. Strong knowledge of .NET development with some hands on experience
. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques used in all phases of database design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

Education
. Minimum 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field
. Professional certificates such as MCDBA and MCSE Certifications are strongly accepted
