SQL Sever Database Consultant

We are looking for a SQL Server Database consultant and mentor.  Senior level person with considerable real-world experience in dealing with SQL Server databases and supported applications.  The successful candidate will have experience on an enterprise-wide application running on a SQL Server 2000 database.

 

This person should be able to understand not only detailed database administration activities but also have experience and knowledge in enterprise deployment of applications supported by SQL Server databases.  This knowledge includes an understanding of tasks, expected timeframes, and affected business processes related to implementations, patch installs, and upgrades.

 

 

Other job responsibilities might include:

>  An evaluation of the current SQL Server database administration environment.

>  Mentoring other current database administrators

>  A review and recommendations for improvement of the current hardware and SQL Server databases

>  Guidance in establishing documented database administration procedures and activities

>  Establishing generic plans (tasks, responsibilities, sequences) for SQL Server-supported application implementations and SQL Server database patching and upgrades

>  Brief discussions regarding ERP integration efforts between SQL Server and Oracle database applications.
