JOB DESCRIPTION

You would have direct responsibility for our production, multi-office, multi-platform environment. Duties would include maintenance of production Linux and Windows servers, support for world-class data centers, on-call support rotations. Our goal is 24/7/365 uptime from all our production servers. You would be involved with day-to-day systems and network troubleshooting as well as the creation of scripts, automation of tasks and monitoring of appropriate systems.



QUALIFICATIONS

 

Desired General Skills

- 4+ years experience with systems administration in a professional environment

- 2+ years experience managing 50+ servers

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- TCP/IP networking (VLAN, DNS, DHCP, static routing)

- Theoretical knowledge of VPN (IPSec/SSL)

- Knowledge of best practice security measures

- SAN (EMC/Clarion)

- NAS (NetApp, Snap Applicance, NFS, CIFS, AFS)



Desired Linux Skills

- RedHat ES/AS, Fedora, Gentoo

- Kernel compiling and parameter tuning

- Automated network boot installs (PXE, Kickstart)

- Shell scripting (bash and/or Perl)

- SSH PKA

- Postfix

- Rsync

- Bind administration

- LDAP administration

- Monitoring tools (SNMP, ICMP, packet sniffing)



Desired Windows Skills

- 2+ years Windows systems administration

- Remote administration (Terminal Server/Remote Desktop, VNC)

- Network sharing (CIFS, UNC)

- VB Scripting
