A full-service global investment banking and securities firm located in New York City is seeking a Sales Junior Desktop Developer. The responsibility of the group is to develop tools to support sales and operations across a range of products. Functions to be supported include, but are not limited to, Customer valuations and Client portfolio management (e.g. client holdings browsing, matching customer holdings to GS offerings). This is a new group and will focus mainly on derivatives-related development. This person will develop client-side components and application functionality in Java for deployment in Microsoft NT/XP environment; develop server-side components in Java and C++ for deployment in UNIX environment; and write technical design documents. This person will participate is technical and functional specification design reviews and support applications once deployed.

Strong C++ and/or Java with 2-5 years of experience are required. The following skills are a plus: Asynchronous remote object programming experience, Object-oriented analysis and design, Sybase or other RDBMS programming experience, and Perl and/or other scripting experience.
