Sales Tax Grp Consultant

Description: The position is responsible for providing pre-sales assistance and consulting services for sales and use tax solutions to new prospects and existing customers in the small to medium enterprise, telecommunications and utilities vertical markets.

The position can be remote from a home office. Travel up to 25%

Responsibilities:

o Provide fee-based consulting services to companies integrating sales & use tax solutions into client billing/e-commerce/POS systems. Services include developing and implementing custom programs in various programming languages and O/S platforms.
o Participate in full development cycle for fee-based consulting projects including requirements gathering sessions. Provide detailed high-level project application designs, development tasks, and estimates Identify skills necessary for implementation and risks related to design and drive the mitigation of risks. Develop and document internal acceptance testing processes. Work with customer project managers to ensure quality and integrity of designs, including adherence to standards and project requirements outlined in statement of work.
o Assist sales professionals with high profile product demonstrations and pre-sales support.
o Provide assistance at industry conferences and seminars.
o Conduct customer training and consulting services via web-based conferencing or onsite at a customer location.
o Conduct internal training and assist in development of internal and customer training programs and materials.
o ?Work with product management and development in the product enhancement process.

Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technology field.
o 2 years programming experience, in a working environment, with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET required.
o 1 year's web programming experience including .NET, HTML, JAVA, ASP, PHP, or any other language strongly preferred.
o 1 year's database programming experience including Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Access, or ODBC client/server strongly preferred.
o Expertise in multiple Internet and desktop development technologies a plus, including, but not limited to: C / MFC, ATL, COM/DCOM, Visual Basic, C#, WinForms, ADO.NET, ASP, ASP.NET, scripting languages (Javascript, VBscript), CSS, XML/XSL, and HTML.
o 1 year's experience working with various client/server operating systems including Microsoft Windows (various versions), Unix, Linux, and AS400 is a plus.
o Experience working with small and large business accounting programs or large enterprise systems such as: SAP or PeopleSoft is a plus.
o A proven track record of successfully translating customer requirements into workable application solutions preferred.
o Experience with sales and use tax laws including city and local tax laws is a plus.
o Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
o Must have good telephone communication skills in supporting sales professionals and customers.
o Proven experience in identifying and solving customer issues.
o Must have strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
o Must be able to work independently and with a team, demonstrating strong qualities in project coordination.
o Must be self-motivated and possess excellent organization, planning and presentation skills.
o Must be able to travel.
