Scientific Software Analyst, 6660-05U

In this position, you will support drug discovery by developing MySQL-based applications used by Vertex's research community. This position will serve as a MySQL guru for Vertex?s entire software development community and ensure that our in-house tools take full advantage of the best available database technologies. The selected candidate will also work closely with the Molecular Modeling team to integrate commercial cheminformatics solutions with Vertex's cutting-edge in-house tools.

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Chemistry or a related field and 3+ years of experience developing and administering MySQL databases. Experience with Oracle, Linux, and open-source tools is required. Experience with cheminformatics tools from Daylight, OpenEye, and Chemaxon is desired, and experience with Java and/or a background in chemistry would be a plus.
