Our client base is well-established and rapidly expanding in Information Technology firms and government agencies based in the Washington, DC metro area.


This is a senior level position for an individual with knowledge of the information systems Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process. This person will work alone and/or with the security team.


Some of the duties:Prepare IT security plans, certification and accreditation packages, continuity of operations plans, and other related IT security documents for selected systems.

 IT security penetration testing and vulnerability testing of IT networks and systems.

 Review selected C&A packages for compliance with an agency?s C&A policy and minimum implementation standards, which are based on the process and documentation established by National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Instruction (NSTISSI) No. 1000, National Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (NIACAP).

 Review IT security plan component of C&A packages for compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-18, Guide for Developing Security Plans for Information Technology Systems.

 Evaluate the quality of C&A packages, including the usefulness and accuracy of the documentation contained therein, including but not limited to: continuity of operations and disaster recovery plans, system-specific policies and procedures, system environment drawings and descriptions, and supporting documentation for certification testing.

 Assist in the development of management reports containing meaningful recommendations for improving the C&A packages.

 Assist in providing briefings to management as needed to convey evaluation findings and recommendations.


Experience:

Required:

?  US citizen or Permanent Resident

?  Able to pass the Top-Secret security clearance

?  Complete knowledge of C&A process and documentation

?  Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, with 2 years of experience in Information Assurance arena

?  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

 

Preferred, but not required:

?  Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)

?  Secret or Top-Secret Clearance

?  3-5 years of experience in Information Assurance

?  Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

 

Salary/Benefits:

Negotiable depending on the experience, plus two possible annual increases during the first year when qualified.
