COMSYS has a long term contract opportunity for a Senior Applications Engineer ? EMS

 

Summary of Responsibilities

EMMS Production Senior Applications Engineer provides application support to all internal and External EMMS users, and it is an expert in EMMS Applications. Actively involved in the design, development, testing, and implementation of modifications and enhancements to EMMS Systems. He/She provides vision, leadership, focus, and mentoring for the production support team of the Energy and Market Management Systems (EMMS). 

Essential Job Functions

? Member of the 24/7 EMMS Production support team

? Maintain, troubleshoot and repair EMMS applications and interfaces, and escalate as appropriate

? Supports the execution of EMMS Disaster Recovery Drills and EMMS business continuity procedures

? Coordinate application set up and testing with/for Market Participants as appropriate

? Develops, monitors, and refines workflow and business processes.

? Application testing, certification and system auditing facilitation. Ensures the integrity of the EMMS applications by participation in the Operations Change Control process

? Represents the EMMS Production Support Team at interdepartmental meetings as directed by the EMMS Production Support Team

? Act as a consultant, representative and subject matter expert in project and activities that affect the EMMS environments and applications as appropriate

? Assist in revisions to Operating Guides and Protocols as appropriate

 

Education and Experience Requirements

? Bachelor?s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered) - Master?s Degree specializing in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems preferred

? Minimum 7 years experience in Energy Management Systems

? Direct experience with Alstom ESCA?s suite of EMS applications preferred

? Experience with market systems, related to the deregulated electric industry, preferred

? Experience with Fortran, C, C++, Perl

? Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, XML, Java, and Web Technologies preferred

? Experience in design and development of Application Software using Oracle Database, Forms User Interface, PL/SQL, Java, XML and Web Technologies preferred

? Effective organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

? Leadership and teamwork skills

? Customer service focus
