Senior Business Analyst

The Menasha Packaging Company designs and manufactures corrugated containers, displays, protective packaging products, paperboard and paperboard substrates, folding cartons, and commercial printing products. With 24 corrugated container plants across the U.S., a state-of-the-art design center and a Technology Center, Menasha Packaging offers customers creative structural and graphic design, sophisticated printing, and a host of specialized services that help package, protect, transport and sell products.

 

We are currently searching for a Senior Business Analyst at our Home Office. This position will be an integral part of a collaborative Information Technology Team that supports 18+ Menasha Packaging locations.  Team support scope includes software applications, technology and business processes.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 Technical/BI Accountabilities

?  Assess and cultivate both short-term and long-term goals for BI development in conjunction with end users, managers, and other stakeholders.

?  Participate in and/or lead projects in the implementation and use of BI software tools and systems.

?  Design, code, test, and document all new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs.

?  Develop the BI semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions.

?  Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.

?  Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications.

?  Produce ETL design guidelines to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system.

?  Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.

?  Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.

?  Project management.

 Application/Business Accountabilities

?  Support Menasha Packaging business unit staff with business system and technology related issues and questions.

?  Coordinate, lead and participate in the implementation of new or changing systems across Menasha Packaging.

?  Maintain, create and define end-user and internal IT documentation related to the systems and technology within Menasha Packaging.

?  Work with business units to understand business strategies and issues.  Define and implement technology or systems-related solutions to align with strategies or resolve issues.

?  Use applicable administrative software functions or other applications to configure systems, users, and master data and to resolve issues.

?  Assist in defining, implementing, supporting, and training standard Menasha Packaging ?best practice? processes.

?  Communicate consistently and accurately with the business units relative to IT activities that have a direct impact on the business units.

 

 

Education/Experience Required:

 

?College degree or equivalent experience.

?  2 to 5 years experience in designing and implementing BI projects.

 

 Qualified candidates for this position will have:

 



?  Significant experience in data modeling and in the design and development of data warehouses and/or data marts.

?  Expertise in the Cognos BI toolset Impromptu DecisionStream ReportNet MetricsManager

?  Demonstrated ability and experience writing SQL code and creating database views and stored procedures.

?  Experience using relational databases (Oracle preferred).

?  Proven project management experience.

?  Ability to lead and facilitate teams.

?  Experience with a 3rd party provided MRP II or ERP application.

?  Ability to understand and design business processes.

?  Ability to translate business requirements into system and technology requirements and vice versa.

?  Experience providing day-to-day end user support.

?  Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

?  Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

?  Strong oral and written communication skills.

?  Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

 

?  Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

?  Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment both as a contributing member and/or team lead

?  Strong customer focus

 Supplementary Competencies:

? Preferred

o  Ability to use Microsoft Project as a working/planning tool.

? Beneficial

o Change management experience.

o Knowledge of and/or experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry.

o Experience with Business VantagePoint software from VantagePoint Systems.

o Familiar with SAP Financials.

o Knowledge of manufacturing principles (make-to-order preferred).

o Experience in the total business value chain in the packaging industry.

o Familiar with Lean Six Sigma concepts and techniques.
