Job Description:
Leads the process of compiling, analyzing, designing, testing and prioritizing of requirements. Coordinates testing, training and provides leadership/ guidance to team members. May work as a senior member of a team providing production support for new/existing systems of high complexity and scope.
Main Activities Analyzes highly complex business requirements and determines alternative solutions for data, processes, interfaces, controls, outputs, environment, infrastructure tools/utilities and/or testing that fit within the recommended time frame and budget
Develops/Maintains test plan scenarios to validate application functionality and integration; May execute tests scenarios, analyzes results, records and track defects..
Documents complex requirements and designs for business and technical processes, testing, and implementation requirements.
Follows standards, procedures, and methodologies in the development life cycle; Maintains proficiency in multiple development life cycles and recommends improvements.
Establishes standards for and develops software/vendor comparison analyses in order to expand inventory of recommended solutions
Works with business unit and across IT departments to develop technical solutions to resolve a business issue. Enforces Data Quality standards
Differentiating Activities Leads, mentors and/or directs the work of other team members. Leads analysis and testing review sessions.
Defines time tables and project plans; analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost and compatibility with other systems.
Collaborates with other IT organizations to understand and monitor 'best practices' for analysis methodologies and tools.
Maintains broad understanding of platforms and applications across technologies.
Performs vendor selection studies
Job Requirements:
Frequently interacts with own team, direct manager, and peers throughout IT and their staff. Occasional to frequent interaction with business unit customers and vendors depending on assignment. Occasional interaction with IT Senior Executives. Often supports business case by providing analysis of cost savings for Governance. Interacts with business leaders as required.
Communication Skills: Demonstrates ability to express and organize thoughts, ideas and information in a logical and concise manner both in writing and verbally in relation to issues that fall within their scope of responsibility. Ability to facilitate meeting of peers and team, clearly articulate the issues at hand, enable discussion that leads toward resolution and communicate results to management. Ability to play a supporting role on presentations to higher levels of management.
Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for requirements of one or more large or critical business system. Provides functional guidance for all work related to a system development project. Exhibits creative problem solving and leadership in business requirements development, design and testing. Maintains detailed knowledge of the businesses current technology and infrastructure. Establishes and enforces data quality standards.
Autonomy: Accountable for the activities of a diverse professional staff with an IT department or project. Has decision-making capability and authority across multiple projects. Provides significant input to financial and HR functions within the department.
HR Management Functions: Has a significant role in identification of resource requirements and participates in the interview process. Mentor in the development of analysts and has input to performance appraisal process
Strategic Thinking: Contribution to strategic execution/direction for a specific business area or project. Helps to build the plan. Responsible for identification and design of complex processes and controls with specific business areas or multiple projects.
Financial Cost Management: Knowledge and ability to utilize company-specific policies and practices for planning and administration of organizational and project budgets. Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for justifying a project, staffing expenditures by identifying cost, benefits and associated risks
Collaboration Leadership: Influences both technology and business staff in promoting change or protecting the firm's assets.
Technical Proficiency: Through knowledge of a comprehensive, "state-of-the-art" discipline and the creative use of its concepts, practices and procedures as well as extensive knowledge of other related disciplines
