Senior Business Intelligence Developer (Data Warehouse/OLAP)

Description:


BlueGranite is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to deliver Data Warehouse/Data Mart and OLAP solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server platform.

 

The ideal candidate will have years of professional project experience designing, building, and optimizing databases to drive business intelligence applications, including strong multi-dimensional expression (MDX) language skills, ETL experience using SQL Server 2000 or 2005, hands-on experience in the design and implementation of logical and physical technical architecture at all levels of the Data Warehouse/Data Mart, excellent analytical ability, and strong collaboration and communication skills.

 

Immediate training is available for SQL 2005 Integration Services and Analysis Services, including the opportunity to learn from a veteran SQL DW/OLAP developer.

Position Description:

- Business requirements and feasibility analysis

- Multi-dimensional and relational design

- Business Intelligence tool selection

- Business model prototyping

- System design and implementation

- Database tuning and optimization

- Platform migration

 

Responsibilities:
- Dimensional modeling and physical database implementation

- Develop reports on top of relational and multidimensional data sources

- Develop OLAP cubes using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services
- Design and Automate ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services
- Data Modeling and Documentation


Required Skills:
Ideal candidate must understand advanced database design principles, data transformation services, and replication, and have worked extensively with Microsoft SQL Server Data Warehouses. Individual must be a self-starter, detail oriented, multi-tasker, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Individual must have a strong technical foundation and possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete objectives.


Additional Requirements:

- Project related experience in:

Data warehousing, experience in building both operational reporting and analytical solutions, data analysis, data modeling tools and/or design methodologies, design and administration experience with relational databases, SQL programming, using SQL Server 2000/2005 tools. 

-  SQL 2005 tools a major plus: Management Studio, Analysis Services, Integration Services and Reporting Services.

- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

- Bonus Skills: Scorecards/Dashboards, SharePoint, Visual Studio .NET., ProClarity
