Senior C Developer- Lanham MD

Spherion is currently seeking Sr. Level C Developer for a Software Development company located in Lanham, Maryland. 

 

This successful candidate must will perform the following job functions:

 
Contributes significant technical components to the development of defined software projects.
Under the overall leadership of the Project Lead, participates in and contributes to the analysis of project requirements, project design, estimation of project components, implementation of these components, and debugging, recapturing and maintenance of project components.
Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge of the technologies and products necessary to the completion of assigned tasks.
Participates actively in design discussions, bringing his/her perspective to bear on product design.
Serves as technical expert on project components with members of other Product Development groups, Documentation, QA, and other internal contacts.
Conforms to company standards in code, other project artifacts, and documentation.
Works with relative autonomy on the detailed analysis, design, and development of project components. Education:
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent.

Specialized Knowledge:
7+ years development overall.
Strong experience in server-side programming.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously on major product components.
Knowledge of agile development methodologies (preferably SCRUM) strongly desired.
5+ years experience programming in the following language:  C, 
Object-oriented experience preferred.
Knowledge of design techniques and UML preferred.
2+ years developing in a multi-platform environment, including windows, unix, iseries, and/or the mainframe.
