Senior Data Center Facility Engineer

The Senior Data Center Facility Engineer oversees the mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems in our new, state of the art Technology Center in Dallas. The primary role of this position is to ensure facilities problems are identified and corrected quickly, ensure vendors/contractors are delivering quality services, and to ensure that internal customer needs are being met. Specific duties and responsibilities include:



Provide insight and make recommendations to improve efficiency and ensure a cost effective infrastructure environment.



Troubleshoot and provide solutions to environmental issues.



Coordinate and manage vendor activities related to the Technology Center.



Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve and upgrade the network and server computing environment.



Ensure timely resolutions of service requests from internal customers.



Develop a working knowledge of department-specific applications; attend seminars and other educational opportunities; seek out insight from other internal and external resources.

Qualifications



MUST have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent combination of academic and professional training and experience.




MUST have 3 years of stable, progressive experience as a facilities manager or facility engineer in a large, corporate data center.




MUST demonstrate exceptional understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in use in a data center environment including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, air handling units, chillers, and CRAC units.



MUST have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work in systems installed in data center environment.




MUST have project management experience in a cross-functional environment.




MUST demonstrate ability to identify user requirements and aid in problem resolution with supervision.




MUST be available to provide on-call support 24 x 7 and work occasional overtime when required.




MUST be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
