Senior Designer- Interactive Content

Job Description:
Challenging career position for Senior Designer 3-5 years with experience in information design and usability; Prior experience in a newsroom environment highly desired. The Designer will be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment offering a diverse design experience. This individual must have the ability to take direction, and manage projects with little supervision in a deadline driven environment, and have the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. The Designer must be able to follow a project from initial concept through final execution. This entails production of final artwork for web production, including special features and packages, and development of functional user interfaces. This individual must exhibit ability to design innovative and user-focused solutions, while being accustomed to working within style guidelines to meet brand objectives. Information graphics may include interactive diagrams, charts, maps, or other interfaces developed in either Flash, javascript, or as graphics. The position may include management responsibility for independent contractors.
Requirements: Must
* have experience working with an online publishing business, publishing new content daily.
* be open to participate in brainstorming sessions with designers
* take art direction well
* have experience building information graphics, charts, maps, diagrams, etc.
* have excellent problem-solving skills
* be comfortable in both Mac OS an Windows environments
* be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 2 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
* be proficient in Macromedia Flash MX
* have knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, Actionscripting
Desired :
BFA in Graphic Design, Information Design, New Media, or an equivalent degree, training and experience
