Senior ETL Developer

This position works with customers to define functional specifications and technical design documentation to create Informatica / ETL mappings under the direction of an ETL Development Lead.

 

Responsibilities:Create technical design documentation, as required, used to define ETL mappings.Utilize standards, architectures and processes to ensure that all code and development practices conform.Participate in all aspects of the project life cycle, following stringent rules and procedures for testing and promoting code.Assist in performance tuning, data quality assessment, and metadata management as required.Maintain and support existing ETL Maps and monitor scheduled workflows.Administer users and groups via Repository Manager. Assist and provide recommendations to DBA on backup procedures for all Informatica environments.Create/maintain documentation on back-end user procedures, reports and data definitions.



Requirements:5-7 years of ETL experience (Decision Stream, Ascential, DTS, SQL Loader, Ab Initio, etc.).1-2 years experience with Informatica PowerCenter (7x, 6x, etc.).3-4 years of DB experience (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server).1-2 years of SQL Server experience (SQL Server 2000).Windows Server 2000 / 2003 and UNIX OS experience.Strong proficiency in SQL and DB technologies (PL/SQL, T-SQL, DTS, SQL Loader, etc.).Experience with all phases of the systems development lifecycle.Experience with Informatica (7x, 6x, 5x) Designer & Workflow Manager.Experience with developing Informatica workflows/mappings.Data Warehousing experience and good analytical skills.Knowledge of and experience with SQL Server and Oracle.Data modeling and metadata management experience a strong plus.BI tools experience a plus (Cognos / Siebel Analytics / Business Objects / MicroStrategies).Report development skills a plus.Pharmaceuticals experience a plus.Exposure to (NDC Health) Wolters Kluwer / IMS datasets a plus.Good organizational, communication and problem solving skills.Ability to be adaptable and flexible.Cooperative attitude and team orientation.Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
