Senior Enterprise Management Analyst

BASIC FUNCTION:


Senior Enterprise Management Analyst for the 24/7 Gambro US Products production data center environment to ensure that the computing and telecommunications environments are housed in and operated as a best in class computing facility.  Related duties include support of the following functions: system monitoring, network monitoring, data center facilities monitoring, configuration database, and change management.  This position will also help champion the development and continuation of major processes and controls related to the production computing and telecommunications environments.


 


Ensures that production systems are maintained at the highest levels possible with regard to validity of data, adherence to standards, optimization of processing and resource usage with the lowest possible downtime and the highest possible percentage of on-time delivery.


 


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:


 


·  Knowledge required to perform at this level is generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in the area of Computer Science or Business and generally a minimum of 5-10 years experience in a related field.


·  Requires a sound working knowledge of a specific Information Technology.


·  Strong knowledge of and competency working with enterprise management tools, software, and processes.


·  Experience monitoring systems and application activities/processes to ensuring that production systems are maintained at the highest levels possible with regard to processing optimization, validity of data, adherence to standards, and resource usage with the lowest possible downtime and the highest possible percentage of on-time deliver.


·  Must be able to implement, maintain, and train others on the use of software monitoring tools and system console operation to maintain high performance and service levels.


·  Works in partnership with all support teams maintaining high levels of communication, interaction, and support.


·  Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required to effectively document and explain problems in a concise and understandable manner and to effectively mentor and train less experienced personnel.

·  Working knowledge of UNIX and Windows NT operating systems, database management, data communications and telephony technologies.

·  Strong experience working with operating systems and sub-system software and the understanding of the theory, workings, and inter-relationships of these products with each other and with other systems and application software.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES:


 


§  Provides 24/7 services as required.  Serves as first-line contact for all enterprise monitoring systems and tools.


§  Acts as a project lead in performing timely analysis, design, testing, documenting, and implementation of enterprise management solutions.


§  Contributes to the accomplishment of major technical projects by coordinating, leading, and assisting with the work of project team members to perform cost vs. benefit analysis, systems review, and provide technical guidance. 


§  Monitors the production environment and takes an active role in avoidance of future problems through early preventative maintenance.  Implements changes to increase department productivity and system optimization.


§  Accurately maintains enterprise management tools and software by correcting, modifying, testing, and documenting according to established standards.


§  Ensures the optimal utilization of enterprise management tools and software relative to current systems and application software.


§  Serves as first line contact for problem solution and/or recovery of all enterprise management tools and software.


§  Analyze requirements to plan systems that will provide capabilities required for projected work loads, and plans layout and installation of new system or modification of existing systems.


§  Develop and maintain documentation for the enterprise systems monitoring group.


§  Confers with system/database engineers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing systems and capabilities required for projects.


§  Must be able to implement, maintain and train others on the use of software monitoring tools and system console operation to maintain high performance and service levels.


§  Provide and monitor power systems, HVAC, fire detection/suppression and physical access controls.  Required to wear a digital pager.
