Department Description: The Information Technology (IT) Architecture team is looking for an energetic individual capable of working closely with others on a series of short and long-range projects. Applicant must be very comfortable and knowledgeable with existing and future IT related technologies. Applicant must be able to work as both a leader and active participant on multiple teams and projects at the same time. Applicant skill-set must include the ability to research effectively, communicate with external suppliers, work with internal customers, manage relationships, document requirements efficiently, and present well to senior leadership teams.

Responsibilities/Expectations: A well versed understanding of the information technology landscape stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, wireless and more is required. Strong interpersonal skills as well as solid strategic thinking are beneficial.

2. Develop "Technology" Roadmaps
3. Develop Motorola Technology Infrastructure Standards
4. Assess Baseline IT Architecture
5. Assess Performance of Existing Solutions
6. Assess and Qualify IT Vendors & Products
7. Develop & Maintain Technology Reference Model
8. Develop IT Architecture Solution Templates
9. Advise & Support Systems Planning on Technical Architecture
10. Process Technology Architecture Exception Requests
11. Oversee Technology Architecture Deployment

Knowledge Skills: Knowledge Required and Business Experience
1. Minimum 7+year senior IT architecture experience across multiple functions with deep experiance with leading Unix and/or Windows IT programs.
2. Strong familiarity and expertise the following areas:
a. Networking technologies including Voice, Wide Area, Local Network, and Wireless technologies.
b. End User Computing technologies including Desktop, Laptop, PDA, and other mobile devices (Windows, Linux)
c. Regional and Global Computing including computing hardware and software (Windows, Linux, Unix variants)
d. Personal Productivity Tools
e. Data Management
f. Directories
g. Collaboration
3. Excellent verbal and writing skills
4. Able to develop and present complex material effectively to a variety of audiences ? technical and non-technical, staff, management and leadership.
5. Proven ability to perform gap analysis between existing architectures/solutions, including current business requirements and proposed new architecture and solutions.
6. The ability to manage and lead initiatives which determine ROI (Business Case) of a given solution.
7.The ability to prioritize issues and drive projects forward in ambiguous/difficult situations.
8. Strong skills in leading/managing/organizing virtual teams and partners managing the operational implementation.
