Senior IT Contract Administrator

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for initiating and managing cross-functional teams to support Corporate IT contracts. Negotiate highly complex and technical multi-million dollar IT contracts/agreements for BB&T. Partner with BB&T lines of business to establish and define desired BB&T vendor relationships in IT contracts. Support acquisitions including negotiating reassignment on high-risk contracts, due diligence participation, and review of closing agreements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead contract negotiation of high-risk and/or complex contracts that have significant impact to the business strategy. Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with IT Strategic Planning, IT Relationship Managers, Lines of Businesses, and vendors to optimize negotiations. End result to incorporate improved vendor service, savings, and to minimize contractual risks.

Customize legal contract language to address specific business issues and draft non-standard contract terms and conditions to ensure IT contract provisions meet corporate objectives. Provide a liaison/coordination role between Corporate Legal Staff and IT Operations Division managers in the areas of contract review and preparation. Consult with outside legal counsel when necessary to negotiate and review IT contracts.

Serve on project teams for major IT hardware/software/vendor RFP's for the corporation. Provide guidance, assistance, and direction to ensure that all negotiations and terms are contractually acceptable and sound for BB&T.

Support mergers and acquisitions by negotiating reassignment of high-risk contracts. Provide guidance on the termination of contracts from merged institutions.

Research, evaluate, and recommend contract management process improvements within the IT/Operations Division.

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or 3-5 years experience in Contract Administration.

Legal aptitude, including the ability to relate to the information technology staff in understanding their needs/requirements in order to negotiate and develop IT contract terms and conditions with IT vendors.

Strong negotiating skills, interpersonal skills, communications skills, professional attitude, and ability to interact with senior management personnel.
