The Commission?s workforce comprises 1,450 employees who serve approximately 1.6 million customers throughout a 1,000-square-mile sanitary district in Montgomery and Prince George?s Counties, Maryland. The IT Governance and Interagency Liaison Division: (a) consolidates, integrates, and rationalizes disciplines to justify and approve IT hardware and software acquisitions; and, (b) liaises with the technology forums of Prince George?s and Montgomery counties and other agencies to present budgets and share best practices.
The Senior IT Governance Analyst is responsible for supporting the IT governance structure at WSSC. The primary function of the governance process is to streamline 3rd party software and hardware acquisitions across all teams at WSSC. The individual in this position will ensure alignment of global IT priorities with business initiatives and effective acquisitions of 3rd party software and hardware. Such acquisitions must be validated for environmental fit, architecture compliance, integration, infrastructure support, redundancy, etc. to maximize the value of investments in IT while insuring IT is functioning cohesively and effectively. The individual in this role will help to establish and support this protocol through program and project reporting and analysis and by ensuring that business units follow the standard process. Additionally, he/she serve as a liaison to the various technology forums of Montgomery and Prince George?s counties by attending and participating in interagency IT meetings and other liaison support functions. The Senior IT Governance Analyst will approach assignments with considerable creativity and innovation. As a senior IT professional, the individual will contribute to achieving the IT Departmental Work Plan and actively supports development and execution of Commission-wide Annual Action Items. This position reports to the IT Governance & Interagency Liaisons Division Manager.
This employment opportunity is located in Laurel, Maryland and requires the employee to sign an employment contract. No relocation assistance is being offered.Qualifications:
The individual we are seeking will satisfy all or substantially all of the following:
Bachelor?s degree in Information Technology or other equivalent field, OR five (5) additional years of relevant professional experience. 5 to 7 years experience in IT operations that require architecture and infrastructure compliance. Proven success in establishing IT governance. Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures and processes.
