Senior Information Systems Specialist

Lord Corporation, a privately held corporation with over $500 million in sales and a leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of innovative adhesive, coating and motion management products, is looking for a Sr. IS Specialist I/II in its Erie, Pennsylvania facility.

 

The incumbent will help support our current server environment, which includes approximately 250 Windows servers worldwide running Server 2000, 2003, and 2003 Enterprise Server along with Windows server clustering. Major applications include SAP, Microsoft Exchange, MS/SQL Server, Active Directory, Veritas BackupExec, Oracle, and Altiris. The candidate should be familiar with the central hardware platforms such as Dell servers EMC SAN technology. The individual will be responsible for leading several simultaneous project initiatives and assist in training less experienced members of the technical support staff. The position requires a top-level technical contributor who will provide technical guidance on complex server-related projects. This role includes smooth day-to-day operation, problem troubleshooting, disaster recovery planning, and formalization. Candidate will work with all facilities and their server needs. Additionally, the candidate will provide 2nd tier IT Help Desk support. This individual will be a major vehicle for introducing new technologies, which will allow the computing environment at Lord to operate as efficiently as possible. Industry periodicals, vendor interaction, and attendance at various conferences or seminars are typical avenues through which this would be accomplished.

 

Mandatory qualifications are a Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience with Windows Server 2000, 2003, and windows clustering. The individual must have excellent problem solving skills. Non-Mandatory qualifications include, experience in the areas of tiered storage management and SAP infrastructure administration.
