Senior Manager EDI Development

This is a 3 month Contract-to-hire position. This person manages all aspects of business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce through a comprehensive EDI strategy; works with key business leaders to establish strategic and tactical EDI planning; focusing on financial impact and justification to meet business objectives; and will advocate and mentor EDI initiatives at all levels of the organization. This person establishes a full life-cycle methodology for the development and implementation of EDI constructs; works directly with customers and business owners in the planning, hands-on development and mapping, testing and delivery of EDI/e-commerce solutions; and communicates status of initiatives with business owners and stakeholders regularly. This person ensures the proper handling and timely processing of electronic data files and other related EDI activities; recommends changes in methods, procedures, or policies to improve departmental performance and initiate change accordingly; and prepares pertinent reports and budgets. This person performs staff reviews.

A BS in business or computer science preferred and 7-years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience with HIPAA transactions is required: 837, 834, 270/271, 276/277, 278, 835, and 820. Solid, working knowledge of EDI technologies with recent hands-on experience with translators, mapping solutions, VANS, XML, etc. is required. Solid, working knowledge of SeeBeyond technology suite is necessary. Demonstrated experience providing EDI support for business partners in the health insurance industry is required. Strong, general I.T. capability; programming experience is preferred. Excellent human relations and verbal/written communication skills, and effective negotiation skills are required. Candidates must have familiarity with overall business operations within functional area. Knowledge of automated systems design and development processes is required. Candidates must possess excellent presentation, analytical and problem solving skills, computer skills to access data and information and to test systems changes. Project management and priority setting skills, and the strong ability to identify and translate business requirement into EDI solutions is required. Candidates must be detail-oriented and results-driven. Candidates must have the ability to work under pressure, meeting commitments and obligations. Knowledge of Medicare and other health insurance policies and procedures is a plus. The permanent salary is $120k - $140k.
