Senior Manager of AS400 Development

ADPI is the leading emergency medical services (EMS) billing company in the United States and is seeking a local resource to lead a variety of AS400 based technology initiatives.  The position reports directly to the Director of Application Development and Support.  Time is expected to be split between 80% programming, and 20% management and strategic design.

 

Duties:

?  Reverse engineers RPG code that has been developed over a long period of time to fully understand and document what the programs are doing, propose alternative solutions, and lead the implementation of those solutions.

?  Leads the design and development of a DB2 table structure and the migration of data and the programs using the data to the new structure.

?  Leads the identification and documentation of business requirements by facilitating design sessions with management and process end-users.

?  Takes ownership for all AS400 projects.

?  Leads the testing effort, including the creation of test approaches and test scripts.

?  Assists in the development of the IT strategy, including the evaluation and selection of development tools and software packages.

?  Creates and monitors AS400 development methodologies and standards, including testing, programming, documenting, etc.
