Title: Senior .Net Programmer/Developer

Location: Northern Virginia, Warrenton, VA


A nationally known, multi-facility financial/IT firm, located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Northern Virginia (less than an hour from Washington DC), is seeking a Senior .Net Programmer/Developer for a diverse information technology organization. Primary Responsibilities: 

Primary responsibilities would include developing Windows and web-based applications using ASP.NET 2.0 with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, adding functionality to existing applications and developing new web sites.  
 
Required Skills/Qualifications:  
Your experience should include at least 5+ years of professional ASP.NET / VB.NET development in a corporate environment on complex business applications. You must be familiar with user-interface and information architecture principles and how to design web sites with complex information or functionality. You should be a team player, able to work directly with the business leaders, developers and other designers in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.  Excellent communication skills are a must and an intense drive to learn new things.  Project/Program Management experience highly desired. 


You'll work on multiple projects under light supervision, communicate clearly, respond to constructive feedback from the team and customers, and be able to provide constructive criticism and feedback on other projects as well. You should possess strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail and be able to take responsibility for a project from inception to completion. You should be able to design, create and maintain complex applications using ASP.Net; VB.Net, HTML, JavaScript, XML, Web Services and SQL Server 2005. Design .NET User and Custom controls integrated with web forms (code behind) for UI Presentation.  


You should have a solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design methods. Posses the ability to code SQL statements, including complex joins, sub-selects, views, triggers and stored procedures. Gather and organize complex application requirements. Actively investigate new tools and methods to support and improve the computing environment. Work under minimal supervision. Provide team members and management with ongoing status of all activities and issues. Escalate issues to appropriate management by recognizing severity and impact on users and other IT systems. Efficiently manages time for completing urgent requests.  


You should be articulate, have excellent problem solving skills and a strong attention to detail. Education should include a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
