Senior Oracle Applications DBA

The Senior Oracle Applications DBA interfaces with Project Managers, Data Architects, Application Developers and Technical Services to design, develop, implement and maintain First American database systems. As a key member of a 5 person team the senior DBA also troubleshoots and corrects database problems and proactively maintains the health of database systems. Specific tasks and duties include:

Install, upgrade and configure database system software.

Monitor capacity and performance, and proactively resolve a wide variety of issues.

Assist in defining standards and strategies for security, database objects, and backup/recovery.

Review and validate logical database designs and create and implement physical designs.

Some after hours work and on-call.

Qualifications

Requires a highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills dedicated to complete tasks on schedule.


Must have 7 years of experience in Oracle Applications (specifically Oracle Financials) database administration with heavy emphasis on physical architecture, performance/tuning, security, backup/recovery, and platform integration.


Strong UNIX shell scripting skills are also required along with a demonstrated ability to successfully work with application developers, LAN administrators, and data architects.


Experience developing/documenting technical standards and reviewing new technology.


SQL Server and RMAN experience a plus.
