Senior Oracle Database Administrator
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for the following:
* Support production and development of Oracle database infrastructure. Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation schedule for production issues.
* Develop procedures, processes, tools, and documentation to install, operate, administer, maintain, and provision the Oracle database infrastructure.
* Major areas of focus include but are not limited to Oracle Database 9i and 10g on Solaris and Linux platforms.
* Analyze performance issues and recommend solutions.
* Pro-actively automate routine DBA tasks.
* Devise, execute, document and improve disaster recovery plans.
* Assist application developers with writing efficient SQL, and train them on the use of database tools, techniques and concepts.
* Review, recommend, test, and implement physical data model changes.
* Strong Unix system administration background required.
* Experience with Linux and Solaris system administration preferred.
* Minimum 3 years experience as an Oracle DBA.
* Oracle Certified Professional DBA preferred.
* Scripting skills (perl and shell) is a must.
* Experience with Oracle Database 9i and 10g.
* Experience with Partitioning, Oracle Data Guard, and physical standby databases.
* Experience with RAC, RMAN, Veritas Netbackup w/Veritas Cluster a plus.
* Confident working with Oracle command-line tools.
* Experience with STATSPACK and TKPROF, administration of databases larger than 2TB.
* Experience with performing storage capacity planning.
* Support experience for a facility of >100 users and nodes.
* Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
* 24x7 production environment support and on-call experience.
