Description:
Working in support of the Director of IT Governance, the IT Governance Portfolio Manager helps establish, implement and oversee the overall EIT governance framework and processes, provide leadership in strategic planning and align program messaging on behalf of the IT leadership team.
This highly visible role can provide a developmental opportunity for the ideal candidate who is comfortable working at a senior leadership level to facilitate a disciplined decision making process, demonstrates an ability to frame strategy and is able to communicate outcomes to a direct constituency of senior IT leaders, and more broadly to an IT community of over 1,600 persons.
This position is responsible for leading and managing the Portfolio Management processes to provide Cardinal Health with the following benefits:

Standardized portfolio management practices, methods and tools
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
Support the IT Governance Model and champion the maturity of the organization in regards to Portfolio management Methodology and Best Practices.
Develop, implement and maintain an Enterprise Portfolio management methodology, process frameworks, techniques and tools - specifically focused on Planning and initiating work.
Develop and execute reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting of EIT portfolio information.
Participate in and/or manage special projects as they relate to EIT portfolio management
Manage and administer the overall EIT portfolio management process to ensure information is accurate and maintained in a way which supports the portfolio management processes.
Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure the Portfolio is managed effectively to maximize value, minimize risk and balance investments to run, grow and transform the business
Improve process maturity and EIT competencies through the development and delivery of education/training, completion of quality reviews and coaching/mentoring of others engaged in portfolio management activities.
Ensure the fundamental activities of portfolio management and governance (portfolio analysis and optimization, risk assignment, cost/benefit calculation, redundancy analysis, contingency, scenario and roadmap planning/analysis, spend reporting, funding models, resource analysis, etc) are performed
BS or BA required, MBA preferred
Consulting background a plus, but not required
Experience in program and project management with emphasis in defining, documenting and implementing processes, procedures and templates for management of IT programs.
Experience with IT organization design, management principles/techniques and IT economics
Background and experience in at least four of the following areas:
IT Strategy and Governance
Project Portfolio Management
IT organization design and structure
IT budget responsibility
IT performance assessment and transformation
Enterprise architecture strategies and assessment
Sourcing and assessing IT products and services
Exceptional analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities
Excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation)
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence others at all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow up
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs required; familiarity with Mercury ITG, Primavera, Planview, Kintana and/or Niku, a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines, ensure quality and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service oriented environment
Positive, creative, and innovative, can-do, get it done, lead by example attitude.
Proven ability to execute and meet delivery commitment dates
