Senior Program Consultant

We have an opportunity for a seasoned Senior Program Consultant located in our headquarters in Tacoma, WA.



 

The Senior Program Consultant provides project and program consulting services to business executives and project managers. Through superior customer service and deep project knowledge, this individual will earn the role of trusted advisor for all key stakeholders. The Senior Program Consultant will also develop and continuously improve the Program Management Office (PMO) practices to enable project success and better decisions. Operational excellence and outstanding customer service will both be a focus for this individual. The Senior Program Consultant is a key team member that helps to build the next generation enterprise PMO for Russell Investment Group.

 

The responsibilities for the individual in this position include:



Provide PMO consultative services for Russell?s programs and projects. Make recommendations on ways to improve project success and reduce anticipated risks. May include project reviews and performance audits as requested by key stakeholders. Builds strong partnerships with internal customers that will enable the PMO to add value and extend the traditional model of services.





Ability to perform companywide assessments of Russell?s projects. Monitors overall project performance and provides analysis and recommendations for project and process improvements.





Responsible to drive Russell?s efforts for enabling reports and portfolio management. Provide leadership and direction for portfolio management processes, targeting investment mix, information presentation, tracking and measuring results, governance process, and industry comparisons.





Partners with key stakeholders for the successful development, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, best practices, policies, and methodologies.





Identifies process vision, performance measures, and delivers ongoing improvements. Market and promote the PMO products and services within Russell.





Determine appropriate program and project management processes for implementation across programs and projects.



Identify and facilitate resolution of project completion barriers; i.e., issues regarding project scope, budget/resources, or schedule. Determine optimal communication channels and coordination processes to resolve project issues.



Help, coach, and mentor project managers. This may include determining the most appropriate options to address changes to project resources or requirements.



Define strategies for the most effective collection, assembly, and dissemination of program and project information. Information will help create a bias for action.



Develop and continuously improve the Portfolio Management process that enables better decision making by Russell leadership.



Approve and contribute to the implementation and tools selection for the PMO group.





 

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:



Bachelor?s degree in computer science or equivalent, Master?s degree, Project Management Professional (PMP or PMI) or equivalent preferred



15 years of demonstrated experience in Project Management, and at least five years experience in Program Management.



Process engineering (development, implementation, training and support) ? senior level skills



Working knowledge of implementing computer applications



Dynamic leader who can energize multidiscipline work teams to learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs.



Excellent budget and risk management skills, ability to set priorities and manage an operation.



Ability to run large enterprise wide programs.



Excellent oral and written communication and consultative skills, ability to work well with managers at all levels in the organization.
