Senior Programer/Analyst

Senior Programer/Analyst Description: The Programmer/Analyst in the group will be responsible for the translating of user requirements and system objectives into logical, efficient, and practical system designs. Preparing detailed file, database and program specifications from which new systems will be developed and existing systems modified. Developing code and testing systems to ensure adequacy in meeting business requirements. Ability to work independently toward the completion of project and departmental objectives.

Responsibilities will include developing detailed specifications for the creation of new or modified programs, including the recommendation of logical designs, record/report layouts, and screen designs. Designing program logic to perform business requirements efficiently and reliably. Developing and executing unit and systems test plans that will thoroughly exercise program system integration. Preparing supporting documentation as required. Communicate with Fund Accounting user areas to provide strong services in carrying out all job-related activities. Execute Unit and System test plans. Conduct research regarding user requests for new/modified systems or problem resolution. Act as a technical resource for others within group.



Requirements:
Candidate must have at least 2 years of practical experience in the development and maintenance of application programs using PL/SQL and Oracle Stored Procedures. 2-3 years of experience in the analysis and design of both new and modified system applications. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of Unix environment and MQ Series. An AS or BS, preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science. (Equivalent technical experience or specialized training is acceptable. Experience with Mercator, XML and Perl is a plus.

Pay Rate: $70.00 - $95.00 Hourly DOE
