Job Description:

 

To code, test and debug software modules that are consistent with the approved technical design and coding standards documents.  In addition, the Programmer Analyst provides implementation and production support for sub-systems on which they have previously worked.

 

Responsibilities:
Assist with defining requirements; can perform detailed analysis of systems specifications for complex systems.
Identify and design most efficient and cost effective solution through research and evaluation of alternatives.
Complete coding on new, complex and involved systems; participates in code reviews.
Efficient unit tester; documents integrated system test plans.
Evaluate, redesign and modify existing program logic to improve overall system performance.
Evaluate and modify existing programs to take changes in systems requirements or equipment configurations into account.
Able to conduct feasibility studies for significant new systems or expansion of current systems. -Helps to develop project effort estimates, including identification and evaluation of alternatives.
Provide input to technical standards and systems investments.
Assist in evaluating alternative protocols, tools, standards and systems investments.
Can work independently.
Receive general direction with occasional work review on other aspects.





Qualifications:
At least 3 years of Oracle 9i and above development experience.
Strong working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Pro*C and Oracle Forms.
Working knowledge of SQL Loader, DML and DDL.
Basic knowledge of Unix Shell scripting on the AIX platform.
Basic understanding of data modeling principles.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Experience in a single complex development environment or across multiple platforms.
Possess unique or specific technical knowledge that is frequently sought out by others.
Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle.
Strong knowledge of operational maintenance environment.
Able to lead walk through of design documents.
Able to have independent communications with business partners to resolve design issues and negotiate project related items such as priorities and completion deadlines.
Lead others toward technical accomplishment, collaborative project team efforts and achievement of important project goals.
Understanding of Medical Information Management applications a plus.
Understanding of health care industry a plus.


Education
Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience.
