Senior Project Manager/Project Director

If you are an experienced project manager with 8 or more years of project management experience, and a proven track record of delivering projects successfully, then we are interested in exploring having you join our team.  You will report to and work directly with the COO of RelianceNet IT Experts, a Microsoft Gold Certified, HP and Cisco partner serving clients in the Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia area.

 

Position Summary:


The Senior Project Manager/Project Director will be responsible for the leadership and support of client and internal projects at RelianceNet; providing program status, reporting to senior management, preparing project justification documentation and project proposal preparation. The Senior Project Manager/Project Director will be accountable for the success of the project as well as the resolution of all problems that may arise during the project life cycle.


Essential Job Functions

 Perform planning and estimating as required to support business case initiatives and project implementation.

 Revenue growth ? grow client accounts

 Lead and mentor project team (5-15 team members)

 Work with customers or users to define work flows and integrate business processes and technology into effective business solutions.

 Develop and implement project plans, and associated supporting documentation, which includes work breakdown and estimates (work plan), as well as specific resource assignments to project tasks.

 Participate in project IT resource planning

 Provide status reporting to the project team, company management and co-workers as required, which track progress ? including realistic project forecasting

 Manage project risks and issues, escalating for resolution if necessary

 Create budget and provide an accurate forecast of project costs

 



Education:

 Bachelor?s degree required. Master?s degree preferred.



Professional Experience:

 8- 10 years experience in project management.

 Must have demonstrated project management ability for large project implementations

 Goal oriented and action-focused, exceptional at planning, organizing, delegating, and team motivation

 Excellent oral and written communication skills to both a technical & non-technical audience

 Experience tracking project progress against established work plan at the task level.

 Demonstrated performance in growing client accounts.

 Understanding of Project Management methodologies and Development Life Cycles

 Understanding of Technical and Application Architectures

 Ability to research, accumulate and create information from internal and external sources to effectively and efficiently accomplish goals

 Recognize problems, determine root causes, provide recommendations and implement solutions

 Establish, measure and monitor adherence to quality standards and plans that focus on continuous improvements

 Work effectively in a dynamic environment where shifting priorities frequently alter work plans, or require multitasking to achieve desired outcome

 Strong work ethic and ability to take accountability of responsibilities

 Requires solid analysis, planning and organizational skills; capable of managing and reporting on projects throughout the project lifecycle

 Understand the customer or user?s perspective, anticipate and respond to the client?s needs appropriately with a sense of commitment

 Mentor other project managers in project management procedures and methodology

 Demonstrated ability to use standard project management tools effectively, specifically with utilization of MS Project



Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, and Other Requirements:

 Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred

 Active membership in professional association desired
