Senior Quality Assurance Engineer/HTML

 Summary

 

In this position you will be responsible for the quality of released software. You will function as an integral member of the development team, to increase the efficiency with which applications are released and to prevent critical software problems from reaching end-users.

 

In addition, a portion of your time will be devoted to hands-on development and maintenance of Lumetra?s web properties.

 Duties & Responsibilities

 

Quality AssuranceConduct software testing to find, document, report, and track software bugs.Develop test cases based on the content of business requirements and functional specifications. Design test environments based on test case requirements.Work with software developers to resolve/verify defects. Provide proactive, constant, and effective feedback to software developers regarding changes required in the code.Develop, document, and implement quality management strategies, plans, and procedures for software applications. Create quality assurance (QA) planning documents that allow others to understand the strategy as well as the specific tasks. Write testing procedures/checklists to be followed for the development process, for initial product releases, and for ongoing routine testing of production releases.Automate ongoing, repetitive testing tasks wherever possible.Validate that documented standard conventions are incorporated into each application.Track trends in product quality to identify systems and processes that need improvement.

 

Web DevelopmentPerform general HTML development/maintenance. Assist Web Programmers and Web Master with daily site updates.Communicate with internal clients to gather project requirements and communicate project status.

 Job Qualifications

 Five-plus years in a QA position, inclusive of three (3) years project lead experience. Knowledge of software development and testing. Knowledge of where computer programs tend to fail.One year of web development experience using HTML and JavaScript.Experience with different operating systems (including network), computer hardware configurations, and peripherals.Ability to devise a systematic approach to discovering reporting and tracking bugs and/or system failures.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Broad understanding of Web and database application concepts, both software and data needed to provide functional testing. Ability to read software specifications and develop appropriate test plans. Ability to read code.Knowledge of test automation tools.Familiarity with different programming languages such as C#, Visual Basic, VB Script, and structured query language.Four-year Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required.
