Senior Quality Assurance Engineer MetroCluster

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for functional test case design, test case development and automation, as well as test execution of geographically dispersed Cluster Failover functionality on Netapp Fibre Channel Switch-based Products.  Responsibilities include:







Read and understand software and hardware design specifications and actively participate in design reviews and make recommendations for product improvement.
Gather test requirements; develop test plans, test reports and test summary.
Design, implement, and maintain automated functional level test cases for complete coverage of Storage & Cluster Failover functionality in FC switch and stretched distance environments.
Setup, configure and support various switch-based storage testbeds that utilize long-distance cable Test harnesses.
Work closely with development to uncover and reproduce bugs found.
Assist other QA engineers with technical issues and testing approach for overall improved quality.


 


Qualifications (Required):


 

BSCS/CE or related area required;  MSCS/CE  preferred.
5-8 years of QA experience, preferably in NAS and/or SAN environments. 
Software test development and automation knowledge and experience using C, Perl, or other scripting languages.
In depth knowledge & experience testing Storage & Cluster Failover functionality in a fabric-system environment, using Fibre Channel switch products such as Brocade, McData or Cisco.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good organizational skills. 
Ability to work well as a team player.
