Job Description
The PCAOB has a full-time, regular position for a Senior Quality Engineer in the Office of Information Technology at its Ashburn, VA office. As a key contributor on the PCAOB QA team, you will work collaboratively creating, documenting and implementing test strategies and plans. The incumbent performs automated and hands-on functional testing of software components for various client/server, web, and java/j2ee based business systems applications. Major Technologies in use: Microsoft .Net, PeopleSoft, Micro Strategy, Documentum, and others.

Responsibilities
? In conjunction with the QA Manager, ensure delivered systems functionality meets or exceeds requirements and quality objectives;
? Participate in all aspects of testing, including integration, system, performance, stress, regression and acceptance testing;
? Develop and document testing artifacts including, but not limited to, Product Verification Plan, Detailed Test Plan, Test Outlines, Test Cases, Test results and software defects;
? Determine and implement technologies and tools for QA, improving testing effectiveness and efficiency through test automation;
? Work effectively and collaboratively with Developers and System Analysts to understand and validate requirements;
? Perform design and requirements analysis and participate in technical reviews; and
? Participate in test planning and ensure testing is done properly and according to schedule.
Qualifications
? Bachelor?s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant business discipline;
? Minimum of 5 years of relevant application development and/or quality assurance testing experience in a corporate environment including structured testing skills (system, regression, integration, load and performance);
? Expert level test automation skills and extensive demonstrable experience with Mercury Test Director and Quick Test Professional;
? Knowledge and expertise with industry standard testing tools and technologies including: Oracle 9i, SQL Server, PL/SQL, Toad, Windows 2000/2003 Servers, Web/Application Server Technologies (Tomcat), MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio, Java Programming and Java Testing Experience, including tools; JUnit, Ant, and IDEs is strongly desired;
? Ability to analyze functional, non-functional, technical and system design documents and requirements to develop efficient and effective test strategies and test cases;
? Excellent planning, estimation, and problem solving skills;
? Strong verbal and writing communication skills; and
? Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
