Senior Systems Engineer - (L-3 GSIMS23730)

The candidate must be able to work well with the lead technical engineer and other team members to support the architect, design, and implementation of requirements to update a system network for an integrated COTS solution. The candidate must be experienced with best engineering practices in performing research for alternative COTS product solutions for defined system requirements. The system engineer candidate must be familiar with working and communicating effectively with vendors to gather necessary selection data for final choice recommendations. The alternative selections must be explored and evaluated in a manner consistent with a system level trade study that considers technical, schedule and cost impacts. The candidate must possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills for required documentation development and updates; and control gates presentations. The candidate must be able to develop a system architecture and implement a design strategy that will satisfy business requirements and system goals for an upgraded network. The candidate must be familiar creating a BOM and working with a procurement process. The candidate must be able to manage risks including that identification of risks in product selection, system design and implementation. The candidate must be able to develop a mitigation strategy for identified risks.

MANDATORY SKILLS:
-Must have a BS in System Engineering with some MS work preferred in a technical field such as Information Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience. Experience with RetrievalWare, and SharePoint desired, but not required. Additionally, familiarity with message traffic; and search and document management tools is desired.
