Senior Test Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation effort on various test automation projects and provide technical direction to junior team members. He/she will determine where there are opportunities to realize test automation benefits and define scope and success criteria for each test automation project. The candidate will refine the test automation methodology (including framework, communication processes, roles and responsibilities, templates and standards), perform ROI analysis and track TA metrics. The candidate will work closely with project managers and SQA Leads to track and communicate test automation progress on projects. He/she will be responsible for on-boarding and managing test automation contractors.

 

Requirements:

A M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience is preferred. The candidate must have at least eight years of IT experience, with a minimum of four years of hands-on experience with industry standard test automation tools such as QuickTest Pro (preferred), TestComplete, Winrunner, SilkTest, Robot or Applescript. A strong software engineering background with a minimum of five years of programming experience is preferred. The candidate should have a solid understanding and practical application skills of QA processes, approaches, methodologies and software development lifecycle. He/she must be familiar with source code control, defect tracking systems and configuration management such as ClearCase, ClearQuest and PVCS. The ability to communicate effectively within the team and across other teams is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as critical thinking abilities are essential. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. Experience with automating FDA-regulated (validated) applications is preferred.
