Senior Unix Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior UNIX QA/QC Engineer for our Operations team.

- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Self-directed.  Demonstrated ability to identify issues, and offer solutions.

 

Technical Skills:

Required:

- UNIX (esp. Solaris) local and remote systems administration experience

- Ability to program in at least one UNIX administrative language

- Solid TCP/IP and networking experience

- Experience with network security (firewalls, authentication systems, cryptography, etc.)

- Experience with host security (passwords, uids/gids, file system permissions and integrity, security packages, hardening)

- Experience in building/maintaining IT environments in a regulated and compliance oriented industry.

 

At least one of the following:

- Enterprise backup system administration experience

- Experience with external/networked storage systems

- Experience assuring high system/application availability as part of business continuity/disaster recovery

- Experience developing/testing disaster recovery plans

- Experience with rapid-rollout/system imaging tools and processes

 

Preferred:

- Experience with enterprise asset management, security/antivirus/anti-spyware, and other administrative applications

- Solaris certification

- CCNA or better certification

- CISSP certification

- CISA certification
