Senior VoIP/Networking Consultant - Post Sales Role

As a result of continued growth, my client has asked me to find a Senior Networking Consultant to work from their Irvine, CA location. We're seeking a seasoned professional who has a strong ability and expertise at assessing security vulnerabilities. My client will consider anyone coming from a vendor, consulting firm, VAR or systems integrator OR someone who has, at least, worked in such a role in the fairly recent past. The unique aspects of working in a vendor/integrator environment drive that requirement.

Basic guidelines:
* Capable of working in diverse situations
* 5+ years experience in networking, telephony and security
* Hands-on experience with design and implementation of enterprise VoIP solutions
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
* Experience conducting security assessments using commercial and open source host scanning tools, network scanning tools, and web and database vulnerability assessment tools.
* Working knowledge of cryptography applications, methods, systems and protocols
* Strong interest in intrusion prevention, content filtering technologies, wireless networking and security, authentication and identity management, and application security
* Significant LAN/WAN internetworking technology experience (routers, switches, etc.) and deep knowledge of IP addressing, IP subnets and routing
* In depth knowledge of TCP, UDP Protocols and the OSI seven layer model is required
* System administration experience on Unix platforms (Linux, HP/UX, AIX, or Solaris) and Microsoft Windows operating systems is desirable
* Although CISSP certification is desired, any of the following qualifications would be beneficial - Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or Expert (CCSE), Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP), or other major vendor sponsored security certifications
* Consultant positions may require some travel

* Required skills:
* In depth knowledge of networking and security countermeasures design
* Strong experience deploying and troubleshooting firewalls in various architectures

This is a post-sales role that will involve working with sales and pre-sales to close deals AND looking for opportunities to grow the footprint once inside the accounts.

The compensation package includes a base salary of $90K-$110K+ salary with a $25K+ bonus opportunity. The ideal candidate*s going to have 3-5 years experience with high end network consulting services, Cisco Systems AVVID architecture, Cisco CallManager, IP telephony, IP enabled Call Centers, and Voice over IP (VOIP). Experience having led CallManager deployments with at least 100 handsets would be ideal experience.

This professional in this role will be handling post-sales implementation of all aspects of Cisco IP telephony solutions including:
* CallManager clusters
* Unified messaging with Unity Voicemail
* Cisco PSTN voice gateways
* Personal Assistant
* Conference Connection
* Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory configuration
* Experience with Cisco IPCC Express, IPCC Enterprise/ICM and legacy PBX systems is a major plus.

Certifications:
* Cisco CCIE is essential
* A specialization in IP Telephony is preferred with certifications such as:
o Support Specialist (CIPTSS)
o Design Specialist (CIPTSD)
o Express Specialist (CIPTES)
o Operations Specialist (CIPTOS)
o Microsoft MCSE 2000 with Exchange is a plus

Required Skills:
* In-depth knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony LAN/WAN configuration.
* Experience implementing and configuring Win2K operating systems and Exchange 2K
* Strong understanding of Internet concepts such as DNS resolution and Internet security.
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP and Routing Protocols
* Strong L2/L3 Routing and Switching experience
* Proven troubleshooting skills
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Proactive approach to organization and problem solving
* Customer Response Application scripting is a plus
* Experience with traditional PBX*s (Avaya, Siemens, Nortel, etc.) a plus
* Experience with traditional ACD*s and call center architectures a plus
* MCSE Windows 2K certification is a plus

The professional in this role will be able to travel as needed and have solid experience at being a billable resource at least 70% of the time. We*re looking for someone at the top of the food chain with major VoIP and ITP skills* a thought leader* a subject matter expert* all in a customer-facing package. The person in this role MUST come out of a vendor or systems integrator/reseller environment. At the very least someone who has been in that environment but found their last engagement * inside a big client box * to be stale, boring and to constraining, is the person we want to chat with.

Compensation is solid with a base of $90K to $100K+ with another $15K to $20K+ in bonus potential. They have a full benefits package including 401(k) and an ESOP.
