Senior Windows System Administrator

Emdeon(formerly WebMD) is seeking candidates for a full-time position as a Senior Windows System Administrator in a fast-paced, 24x7 Corporate Technology environment.

 

Responsibilities include:

1.  Administration and maintenance of several large (400+ server, 4000+ workstation,) multiple-domain Windows 2003 forests, including administration of multiple trusts with legacy Windows 2003, 2000 and NT domains.

2.  Administration and maintenance of a large (5000+) user Microsoft Exchange 5.5 environment.

3.  Provide functional role in migration from current AD forest and Exchange 5.5 infrastructure to a new AD and Exchange 2003 infrastructure, and provide administration and maintenace of post-migration environment.

4.  Deploy and manage file, print and application servers as necessary to support both internal users and customers.

5.  Installation and configuration of third-party and internally-developed applications.

6.  Work with Application and Production Control teams to provide system-level support as necessary, and enforce Corporate-wide system-related standards.

7.  Track and deploy security patches as they are released by Microsoft and application vendors.

8.  Provide second or third-level support to Desktop teams in solving domain or server related user issues.

9.  Delploy, configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and provide basic administration support as necessary.

10.  Deployment and management of Corporate intranet applications, consisting of IIS-based intranet websites, Sharepoint Portals and Project server.

11.  Mangement of multi-session shared environments such as Terminal Server and Citrix.

12.  Provide basic hardware maintenance for Wintel-based servers and manage support relationships as necessary to resolve hardware problems.

 

 

Qualifications:Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a Windows environment supporting production-critical systems.Ability to function as a team player in a large environment.Demonstrated proficiency with Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory domain services, including architecture and deployment, user and group management, DNS administration and AD Policy management. Firm understanding of Windows system administration and security, such as filesharing and permissions, event logging, performance monitoring and disk administration, optimally in a SAN environment.Must have in-depth experience wth Exchange 2003 architecture, deployment and administration, as well as familiarity with Exchange 5.5 administration and support.Familiarity with OS security patching protocols in a 24x7 uptime environment, using automated deployment tools.Familiarity with SQL server installation and basic administration needed.Sharepoint administration experience highly preferred.Strong foundation in networking concepts such as TCP/IP protocol, ICMP tools, OSI model layers, switching, routing and load-balancing.Familiarity with Wintel hardware suport such as CPU, memory and disk maintenance, preferrably with HP/Comaq DL/ML series and IBM BladeCenter hardware.Functional with Office applications such as Word and Excel and Visio.  Experience with Visio Technical/Enterprise highly preferred.
