Software Application Analyst

COMSYS IT Services, Inc. seeks a seasoned Software Application Analyst to play a key role in an enterprise application integration project for a contract-to-hire position based in Richmond, VA.

Complete Description:

* Experience with full software development life cycles in large software development projects using OOA&D and/or RUP methodology.
* Experience developing business applications in an object-oriented environment.
* Working knowledge of Java, SQL, JSP, EJB, Servlets, Javascript, HTML, Oracle, Weblogic. Knowledge in Rational tools, Eclipse, Ant, XML and Crystal Reports is preferred.
* The demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team along with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable work experience is preferred as well as extensive knowledge of Enterprise Resource functions such as Finance, Accounting, Asset Management and Human Resources.

Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of automated systems development life cycle, of business process and procedures, automated systems development methodologies and testing techniques. Knowledge of 4GLs networks and PC computing; significant knowledge of Oracle, J2EE, RUP and/or OOAD methodology associated with Application/Web development. Working knowledge of E-commerce, server-side Web development, Portals and web reporting. Extensive knowledge in the process to develop and publish interactive websites.

Skills:

* Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and interpreting user statements, developing and writing analytical and technical documents, developing business applications and solving problems in an object oriented environment, especially PowerBuilder, Oracle and Java.
* Skilled in developing in an n-tiered application/web-based object oriented environment using J2EE, EJB, JSP, JavaScript, SQL, HTML and XML.
* Skilled in architectural design and implementation of EJB framework.
* Extensive working experience in problem analysis and resolution determination of complex problems.
* Extensive knowledge of enterprise resource functions such as Financial Accounting, Asset Management, Purchasing, and Human Resources.
* Demonstrated experience in providing technical leadership and training to less experienced staff to deliver applications in accordance to defined requirements.

Abilities:

* To work independently, be self-motivated, research problems, identify and develop solutions.
* Ability to analyze complex processes and understand architectural issues as well as review and test automated systems.
* Experience in programming and analysis and developing and maintaining automated systems in an n-tier web-based environment.
* Experience should be varied in multiple hardware and software environments using an object oriented development tool.
* Ability to lead and mentor junior developers in large-scale software development projects and web applications.
* Ability to communicate well and work independently with minimum supervision.
